BASI LEVEL 2 SKI INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

You're considering taking the next step towards realising your dreams to become a ski instructor, great choice! BASI Level 2 training in theory should give you the qualification that will allow you teach in the mountain environment. This is the main difference between the BASI 1 and the BASI 2 qualifications. The BASI Level 1 will allow you to teach in what is deemed a controlled environment which essentially means dry slopes and indoor slopes. The BASI Level 2 will allow you to teach in ski resorts.

Where can you teach with the BASI Level 2 Qualification?

Exactly where you can teach with this qualification is a point of great debate. 

There are places you can certainly teach with the BASI Level 2. Many of the EU countries allow you to teach, Canada and America (subject to VISA restrictions). The largest area of contention is France, historically it has been believed that BASI Level 2 instructors could not teach in France unless they had passed the Test Technique. However more recently this has been challenged and there have been stories of people being able to teach with BASI Level 2 without the Test Technique. The main reason for the conflicting views is because of the difference between EU regulations and French law. Under EU law the French should accept the BASI Level 2 qualification without passing the test technique however under French law the Test Technique is required.

Whatever your situation we're sure we will be able to help you on your way to the BASI Level 2 qualification, even if this is just some friendly advice. We do not actually offer BASI Level 2 Ski Instructor Training. We do however understand that people want to have their training and courses packaged together. This is often referred to as a gap year course or career change course and if this is something that you want then please contact us and we can point you in the right direction. If we understand your needs better we can help you find the perfect training partner. We have been in the industry for a long time and know those that do excellent work and produce excellent results. 

You may ask yourself why we would help you find the perfect course, why not just offer the training ourselves. Resources! The reason we do this is because we use all of our resources to offer training at the higher levels of BASI 3 and 4, so we simply don't have enough resources to also offer the training for BASI Level 1&2. However, we know how confusing all the information is and how difficult it is to differentiate facts from marketing. So we want to help because we are confident that if you find the right training partner at this early stage you have a much higher chance of being able to make it through the BASI 1&2 exams and onto the higher levels, where you will then need us :-)
